THE WORLD OF A STAY AT HOME MOM WHO IS BEGINNING A CHINA ADOPTION.

Hello, hello and welcome to my world....what is that, you ask? Well, it stopped being regular showers and makeup and Starbucks every morning several years ago, and is now occupied by a two year boy and 4 month old girl. (and a Golden Retriever that thinks he's a baby as well) My husband, Bryan, brings home the bacon now. (And where did that expression come from...? Do you like bacon...? I think I am more of a Canadian bacon person...) We are in the process of adopting from China, too. Well, let me correct that. We are in the process of adopting from China, while I organize EVERY FRICKIN PIECE OF PAPERWORK AND APPOINTMENT we need to do while Bryan says, what's next? Just kidding. Sort of. I just hate paperwork.

I was a Human Resources Manager prior to having children, so I went from calming screaming employees and holding their hands through scary transitions to doing the same for the new additions to the family albeit they are smaller, often have to have their pants changed frequently (which I refused to do on the job--hazardous materials, OSHA regulations), and you know what...every once in awhile..these little guys, as frustrating and as much work as they are, will just do something tiny that makes ALL that work worthwhile.

Here's a picture of my baby Isabel in her Bumbo seat..more on that later. Notice the China paperwork, dinner and diaper bag on the counter. If you don't have kids yet, get prepared. Your countertops will never be clear...or your house clean, for that matter.
