Isabel has this baby onesie. I happened to be on vacation in Kauai last November and in the window of ababy shop, I saw this one. It cracked me up and introduced me to the company that makes them called Wry Baby. So, I bought the I Might Barf shirt. I actually wish in retrospect I had bought this one given how many times people have called her a boy.
Anyway, you probably think all I talk about is vile things that come out of my children's bodies, and my goodness, that's all I feel like I do nowadays, too. (not only talk but experience firsthand!) Last night, Ian wakes up and throws up in our bed at 4:30AM. All over me. All over the bed. All over him. Bryan and I clean up. I take him in his room. 30 minutes later...he throws up again all over his bed. I change the sheets and we go back to bed. You know kids, they don't prepare you...they just go. He's hanging in there today.
Isabel has had problems since three months with throwing up, intestinal issues, gas, you name it. I don't know what's up. Is it formula, we've switched...from regular, to soy, then to the only soy formula she would tolerate Isomil, which now she isn't tolerating very well. When she throws up, it's projectile..I constantly smell like rancid formula. Yummy. We're going to the doctor tomorrow. The problem with things like this is it is so hard to diagnose anything. She's fussy, she's not fussy, some nights she's up most of the night, other nights not so bad...it's killing me.
If you want warm fuzzy feelings (and not talk about my children being sick), visit this blog. She writes about the love she feels for her children as she spends time with them(just doing the things moms do)...I love it. She puts into words how mothers feel about our special relationships with our children.
I think we all blog for different reasons. I like to write humorously or attempt to as a way to remember that I have a sense of humor or to make light of all the difficulty or mundane that is going on in my life. It's my therapy. I like to read blogs to find commonalities among all of us. I like to be reminded of the little things that are special in our lives. It keeps me centered.
Can you say ramble? Holy cow, this is an English teacher's nightmare. My first paragraph has nothing to do with the last. Oh well, it's my blog.
