Mother's Day? What Mother's Day?

Not a great weekend for me...well not a spectacular week for me.

First, my husband was away most of last week on business, leaving me with the kids...which gets frustrating! Then, he became very sick on his last night of the business trip. He flew home miserable from Arkansas. Yuck.

We spent Mother's Day at the ER trying to ascertain what was going on. Chances are it's a pretty bad ulcer, but it could be his gall bladder. We still have to do a couple tests. When you go to the ER, they do all the "life threatening" tests first, so he was put through all types of cardiac tests/scans. The two things they didn't do (it seems like they did every other thing!) were check for a ulcer or gall bladder issue. Apparently, if it isn't going to kill you, they don't care if you are writhing in pain.

So, I know what it feels like to be a single mom. And me no likey. He can't eat or anything and feels pretty icky. So, I'm worried about him while trying to keep some sort of semblance of normalcy in this house. I am starting to lose patience with my kids pretty easily, though. Last night, I was frustrated with Ian and raised my voice. He said, "No Shouting!" Normally, I'm pretty good about not raising my voice at the kids...but Mommy is tired.

Oh well, at least I don't look how I did last May...50 pounds heavier. Look at this miserable picture from last May. Ick.

Oh, I am sorry! Scott had gall bladder probelms and he really thought he might be dying! And you are so right about them starting with the worst diagnoses...They are like "let's make sure it isn't cancer" and you're like "WHAT"?? I am sorry, I hope he is better soon...Call me!!

Uhhhh...I'm sorry, but I agree with atomic mama. You look beautiful in that picture. I'd give anything to have a picture of me like that. And a single Mom for a week with two small children? No thanks! I swear, I don't know how you do it. I hope your husband is feeling better soon and you get a well deserved break.

I was in a lot of pain last fall with gall bladder stones. Just like your hubby, I spent about 4 hours in the middle of the night in the ER. Luckily, I haven't had a reacurance. Hope he is feeling better and that you get a break from being home alone. I know how hard that can be.

A Mother's Day re-do is definitely in the works for you!!! Do I hear the words "spa" and "massage" in your future?

Hope everything gets better and by the way, your belly photo is beautiful!

What are you talking about? That picture is great!

Sorry about Mother's Day and hubby. I hope he feels better soon. I too hate parenting alone, I don't know how singles do it.

I think you look great in that picture! I gained 65 lbs with my last pregnancy...I'm embarassed to say that even though my youngest is 17 months old I still have about 35 to lose of it.

My dh travels all the time for work. In July he has 2 big trips...Japan and Germany. We have no family in the state and I'm alone with our 2 little boys. It's tough but you can do it!

You deserve a special celebration this weekend to make up for last weekend! I know how hard it is when husbands work long hours and travel, it sucks!

Your picture is beautiful, you're crazy! :-)

I think that's a great picture. You're beautiful. So you have 3 babies now? Men are tough when they're sick. Hope he's better soon for both your sakes.
Take care,
Georgia

Yikes, so sorry to hear he was sick!!!! That sounds scary sick too.
A Mother's Day do-over is definitely called for. Hey why don't you take a day off and come down and have fun with me and Lisa!

(Oh, and that picture of you -- well it's just plain cute. I grinned like mad when I saw it.)

Yuck!! Maybe you can get a "do over" for Mother's Day. Also, you are not giving yourself credit. Never been pregnant but would have been happy to look that good pregnant. I think it's beautiful
